What is TAM?

The Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) completer program is a Career and Technology Education (CTE) program of study that seeks to address the persistent teacher shortage challenge by creating a pipeline of teacher candidates.

The four TAM courses give students hands-on experiences and early exposure to the teaching profession.

Critical Shortage Areas:

• Middle School Education

• Technology Education

• Family and Consumer Sciences

• Computer Science

• Business Education

• ESOL, English, French & Spanish

• Mathematics

• Science

• Special Education

• Art and Dance

• Media Specialists, School Psychologists, & Speech and Language Pathologists
