Let me start my saying I live in Torrington that's an hour away from this place and trust me when I get an a cravings for Ice Cream I am making that hour trip the BEST Ice Cream I ever had! I'm sorry I enjoyed the ice cream so much I forgot to take a picture. The Service was absolutely wonderful the young girl was absolutely so polite and very patient with me because there was so many choices and I wasn't sure what to settle on, there is no inside dining but they do have picnic tables to sit at. They keep the picnic tables and surrounding areas nice and clean, if you haven't been here I suggest you make this stop it's a wonderful little gem.

This was cooler than cool! I could be wrong but Ice Cream Depot looks like that they cover almost any restriction/dietary preference under the sun located feet away from the Amtrak tracks in Stafford Springs, CT. There's obviously regular ice cream, frozen yogurt, Italian icees, Vegan options (and who knows, maybe gluten-free?).
Hubs never passes up the chance to go for a lemon icee during the summer months- but 'earthy' flavors like butter pecan or rum raisin- are his favorites too. While I do eat dairy, I decided on a Vegan Cookie Dough this time which was actually good. Heatwave or not, Ice Cream D. hit the spot. Plus service from the girls working the counter was nice and so was the price.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - Enrico B.Vernon, CT017Jul 27, 2023

Great selection, friendly staff! They have several dairy free options as well. Scoops are huge, though.. 1 scoop is more like 2.

This was my childhood ice cream spot and I had the pleasure of sharing it with my daughter last night. The soft serve was even better than I remember, but that's not the reason for the review. As the parent of a child with food allergies, ice cream can be a bit of a gamble. I can't even begin to tell you how many places we end up having to leave empty-handed because they aren't able to make a few easy accommodations (new gloves, clean the scoop or get a new one, use fresh toppings that haven't been near the crushed peanuts). I was blown away by the level of care the staff took while preparing my daughter's ice cream. Not only did they fully wash the scoop, they sprayed and wiped down the scooping area and went to the back for fresh cherries and whipped cream. You could see how seriously they took her allergy. People who are fortunate enough to live without the fear of an ice cream killing their child might not understand, but this is the kind of service that brings a tear to every allergy parent's eye. It's also a sure fire way to make a lifelong customer. There are no more loyal customers to food establishments than allergy parents who feel their fears are taken seriously. So thanks Ice Cream Depot for not only staying awesome after all these years, but for allowing me to safely share one of my favorite childhood places with my own child. We will definitely be back whenever we're in town to visit!

A cute place, however my milkshake was completely liquid and tasted just like milk. Waste of $6. Just buy a cone.

I ordered the Reese's sundae with Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, and couldn't finish it. Absolute sundae perfection. And the young lady who waited on me put both Reese's Pieces and Peanut Butter Cups in for toppings. Heaven on Earth! Worth the price, and the trip!

Great spot for awesome ice cream any day of the week in a quintessential New England town. Friendly, quick service from the staff and good selection of flavors as well as soft serve. The Toasted Coconut was great and my son had a Huge Moose Tracks in a cone that they did a chocolate dip on!! I've only seen that on soft serve but great that they do whatever the customer asks. If you ever roll through Stafford Spings make it a point to stop here and enjoy this small town business and get a milkshake to go like we did - it was really good as well!!!

Great place to go for delicious ice cream on a hot summer night. We stopped on our way home from lake. The prices are reasonable and the flavor selection was impressive. Try the campfire s'more for graham cracker chocolate deliciousness. The line moves fast, but it is clearly h new popular spot in town.
