2022 INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER SERIES FAQS

Where will the 2022 International Speaker Series be held?

WorldOregon’s 2022 International Speaker Series will be held exclusively online. Each event will have a unique link and password to access the live-stream, which will be emailed to you at 10am the day before each event.

How can I purchase tickets?

Tickets to the 2022 International Speaker Series can be purchased here.

International Speaker Series tickets are nonrefundable. While every effort is made to communicate series changes in advance, specific speakers and dates are subject to change.

Can I view the events at a later time?

For those unable to attend the live stream of the events in the 2022 International Speaker Series, there will be a 2-day window directly following the event and ticket-holders will be emailed a secure login for each stream. This is intended solely for ticket-holders and is not to be shared.

Why is the International Speaker Series being held virtually in 2022?

Planning and curating the International Speaker Series is a months-long process which was made even more challenging due to the evolving nature of the pandemic. This year's series is being presented virtually as the result of balancing both ongoing public health considerations and the wish to craft a series that asks questions of who we are as global citizens, where we are headed, and what the big ideas, challenges and opportunities are in front of us. One of the bright, positive parts of this decision meant we could connect with an array of brilliant speakers who are on the ground where they live and work sharing their perspectives from around the nation and the world.

How do I use my WorldOregon membership discount?

WorldOregon members were mailed their discount code on Tuesday, April 5th or upon joining or renewing their membership. Are you a member and did not receive your WorldOregon discount code? Email [email protected] or call 503-306-5252 and we will contact you as soon as possible.

Do you offer any other discounted tickets?

WorldOregon is a proud participating member of Arts for All. Anyone who receives Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, also known as food stamps, and has the Oregon Trail Card is eligible to participate. Please contact [email protected] for Arts for All tickets.

What should I do if I have technical difficulties during the event?

Our technical colleagues will be there to help you in real time. The customer service line, 503-306-5252, will be open the day of the event and will continue to assist people during the event. We will also closely monitor our email [email protected] to further assist you.

I’ve purchased Patron tickets and normally attend the reception. What is the plan since the event is online?

Sponsors and Patron ticket holders will receive an additional invitation by email to join a more intimate online reception for each of the events in the series.

When will I receive the URL to attend the event?

We will email all ticket holders the day before each event with a link and password to stream each event.

Will I need a password for the event?

An event link with password will be sent to you the day before the event. You will also receive a link with password after the event, which will allow you to watch the event for two more days after each event.

I didn’t receive the event link. What should I do?

We will send the event link one day before each event. It is possible the link may land in your junk, spam, or clutter folder. If you have not received your email by noon of the day of the event, please contact us at [email protected] or by phone at 503-306-5252. We are here to assist you with your questions.

When will I be able to purchase single event tickets instead of the whole series?

Single tickets will go on sale shortly before each event.

What is the difference between a General Admission and a Patron Series ticket?

Patron tickets include access to a more intimate online reception for each of the events in the series. Patron ticket holders are also helping to support the work of WorldOregon through a partially tax deductible donation (see question below for details).

Is my ticket tax deductible?

Patron tickets are partially tax deductible for the amount over the Fair Market Value. These amounts are listed on your receipt. General Admission tickets are not tax deductible.
