Kentucky's hepatitis A outbreak exceeds 3,000 cases. Here are the counties most affected

Kentucky's hepatitis A outbreak rages on into its second year, as health leaders say there are now more than 3,000 reported cases.

The Kentucky Department for Public Health said the state has received 3,122 reported cases from August 2017 through the first week of December 2018.

19 people have died as a result of the outbreak, and 82 percent of Kentucky's 120 counties have reported at least one case. More than half of the cases have led to patients being hospitalized.

Jefferson County, Kentucky's most-populated county, has the most reported cases with 642. Carter County has the highest incident rate per capita.
