TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A large presence of law enforcement descended upon I-10 in Tallahassee on Tuesday night after someone called 911 to report a shooting had taken place, said officials.

The caller told dispatchers that someone had been shot near Mile Marker 199, according to Florida Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Master Cpl. Patricia Jefferson-Shaw.

According to the Tallahassee Online Police Statistics (TOPS) map, the call came in around 7:45 p.m.

Several agencies, including FHP, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, and Leon County EMS responded to the area. Deputies and Troopers canvassed the shoulders of the interstate on foot searching for a potential victim. Roughly a dozen marked vehicles with blue lights were parked in the vicinity of the North Monroe Street exit, near MM 199. An EMS ambulance with flashing lights was stationed on the North Monroe overpass.

No scene or victim was found, said Jefferson-Shaw, and the scene had cleared by 9:15 p.m.
