Since 2001, the Mitch Siegel Emerging Artist Award has been granted annually to a high school graduating senior pursuing the arts beyond Harwood Union. Students submit applications with examples of their work, an explanation of their artistic process and philosophy, their creative goals, and their plans to reach those goals.

The monetary prize of $1,000 is awarded for the student to buy the tools or instruction needed to support their creative objectives. Students endeavoring all kinds of arts are encouraged to apply including visual arts, performance arts, technical arts, and multi-media arts.

Currently a junior, Poppy in the 2023-24 academic year will be enrolled in her first year of college at Community College of Vermont. Across Roads Center for the Arts is delighted to support this astute and dedicated young photographer and media artist as she embarks on her next educational chapter.
