Ivanka Trump and partners supply 1 million meals to Ukrainian refugees

Ivanka Trump, daughter of former President Donald Trump, has donated 1 million meals to refugees in Ukraine, according to a report.

In coordination with the UPS Foundation and Trump’s partnering organizations, including City Serve, City of Destiny, the Pentecostal European Fellowship, and numerous local religious organizations, Trump provided roughly 158,400 pounds of food to Warsaw, Poland.

“The Ukrainian people have shown inspiring courage and resilience during the invasion of their country by Russia,” she told Fox News. “As is often the case, pain and hardship are disproportionately borne by the most vulnerable.”

“With this food, I hope to provide a small source of comfort and nourishment for Ukrainians who are suffering so greatly,” she added.

The meals will reportedly be delivered by local organizations to refugees inside Poland as well as those still in Ukraine.

Trump contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to supply the meals, according to Fox News. The meals included oatmeal and goulash, reportedly in accordance with the requests of aid workers in Ukraine.

Pastor Paula White-Cain told Fox News that she was brainstorming about how to connect food scarcity in the United States to that in war-torn Ukraine when “I got a call from Ivanka Trump. She and I worked closely in the White House to put together a national hunger relief program called Farmers to Families. When I told Ivanka what we were doing, she went into action as only Ivanka can.”

Trump has done work to help aid food-scarce areas in the U.S., too.

“Thanks to our incredible partners + volunteers who helped feed families across Idaho & NY fresh, locally-sourced produce & dairy this holiday season,” she tweeted in January. “1.1 M pounds of dairy + produce delivered, 1.3 M meals served, 52,000+ food boxes distributed, 100% privately funded.”

Celebrity couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher launched a “Stand with Ukraine” fundraiser in early March and have since raised over $35 million in cooperation with Flexport and Airbnb.

“We’re raising funds to support a relief effort that will have immediate impact and supply much-needed refugee and humanitarian aid to the area,” Kutcher said.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for this support,” Kunis, who is originally from Ukraine, said upon reaching their goal of $30 million. “While this is far from a solve of the problem, our collective effort will provide a softer landing for so many people as they forge ahead into their future of uncertainty.”
