Undergraduate Funding Opportunities

All Immersion funding for the current academic year has been exhausted; however, students may still submit an application for funding. Applications will be held until the end of the spring term. In the event more funding becomes available, the recipient will be notified.

There are numerous funding sources available to support immersive experiences and culminating projects for Immersion Vanderbilt. Refer to the list below for more information about these opportunities. Funding for Immersion Vanderbilt experiences and/or projects has been made possible by the generous support of the following and more:

  • Alex Taylor Education Enhancement Fund
  • Joe C. Davis Fund
  • Elissa Efroymson & Adnan Hamid Fund
  • Fournier Family Immersion Fund
  • Sartain Lanier Family Fund
  • The Littlejohn Family Fund
  • College of Arts & Science

Most funds are awarded through a competitive application process. These Vanderbilt funds are awarded to individual students to support their immersive experiences and/or culminating projects. These funds are not intended to fund external organizations. Priority for awards are made to those students who have not yet received funding. Some considerations prior to applying for funding:

  • Amounts vary by student, even if pursuing similar experiences or projects.
  • Award amounts are determined by level of financial need, merit of the application, and available funds.
  • Even if not previously awarded, funding is not guaranteed.
  • Immersion funding applications are reviewed on a monthly basis, unless otherwise indicated on the application.
  • If awarded, funds may take 4 - 6 weeks for disbursement from the date of the offer letter.

Students may only apply for one fund per session. If a student received funding for a fall, spring, or summer (including Maymester, Summer Session I and Summer Session II), then a second funding award will not be made.

Recipients of merit stipends and Crescere Aude must use those funds first. Award decisions for students with those funds will factor in the amount of the stipend that is remaining. VUSRP is not included in this policy as it is a prestigious award that includes a stipend but is not primarily a funding award.

Please note that guidelines are subject to change. Students who receive financial aid should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid before applying for funds during the spring and fall applications to determine how an award may impact their financial aid.
