The Los Angeles Dodgers are the latest major league to unveil their City Connect series jerseys.

The jersey will be worn during Friday and Saturday's game against the New York Mets and follows other City Connect jerseys worn by the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Miami Marlins, and San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers' jersey are helping to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Fernandomania in 1981 when sensation Fernando Valenzuela won the National League Rookie of the Year award, Cy Young award and helped Los Angeles win the World Series.

“The Dodger uniform is an iconic part of the franchise’s identity. While our traditional look has and will always be worn by the franchise-great players, the City Connect program offered us the opportunity to recognize the impact and importance of our multicultural fanbase,” said Lon Rosen, Dodger Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re excited to debut these City Connect uniforms on the field and know our fans will enjoy seeing ‘Los Dodgers’ on the uniforms as well as our new murals, which bring Los Angeles’ street art culture to Dodger Stadium.”
