Hungry diner shocked to find ‘world’s stingiest sandwich’ contains only two tiny strips of ham along the cut edges

A HUNGRY diner was shocked to discover the ham sandwich she had ordered only contained two tiny strips of meat.

The peckish punter was hoping to pork out at the Papakura Bakery in Auckland, New Zealand.

After being handed the stingy sarnie and took to a local Facebook group to share her experience.

However the unnamed was apparently not disappointed, telling Newshub: "I still ate the sandwich - it was yum.”

But people online were enraged that she had been scammed out of ham and took to social media to vent their fury.

"Do they not want to be the best bakery? I mean they want people to come back right?" one commenter said on the Mai FM Facebook page.

"That's a bread sandwich... Not a ham sandwich," another wrote.

A third added: “Very sneaky – place the strip at the front of the sandwich to give the impression the rest of the sandwich also has ham.”

A spokesman for the bakery suggested someone was telling porkies, strongly denying the offending snack had been purchased from their outlet.

He said: "It's not right. We do a whole piece of ham and salad and cheese in it.

"These sandwiches we make every day - if people don't believe us they can come have a look."
