Over the weekend, Dan Schneider (mastermind producer behind most of Nickelodeon's most popular shows) released an exclusive “Where Are They Now, Zoey 101 Edition,” and fans promptly lost their minds. While the show was still running, there was an episode in which the PCAers buried a time capsule that was supposed to be dug up in 20 years (ringing any bells yet?) Zoey Brooks (aka Jamie Lynn Spears) told Chase Matthews (Sean Flynn) that inside, she revealed how she really felt about him via video. She also said it would be mean to make him wait 20 years, so after 10, he could find out.

…that was 2005.

The clip Schneider released featured Chase today, actually in the middle of proposing to his girlfriend (who he almost accidentally calls Zoey.) He’s cut short by a dirt-covered Michael (Chris Massey) who runs in claiming that he not only found the capsule, but he watched Zoey’s video, and before Chase went through with the proposal, he had to see. In lieu of a DVD player (or, really, the actual footage from 2005) Michael recites to Chase exactly what Zoey said in the video...and it’s what we all suspected, but with a few twists thrown in.

Apparently, Zoey wasn’t sure whether or not Chase had feelings for her (girl, really?) and not only felt like Chase was the coolest person she’d ever met, but also wondered whether or not he could be her soulmate.

Upon hearing this, Chase promptly freaks out, takes the ring back from his would-be fianceé, and runs out the door to find Zoey, but not before confessing that he always loved her (and still does!!!) The clip ends with Michael sitting down and asking Chase’s new ex whether or not he could crash at her place to take a shower. Needless to say, nothing’s changed all that much.

The clip does end on a cliffhanger, though, and it’s hard to imagine that Dan would open this particular can (or time capsule, if you want to get technical) of nostalgia and not let us know what happens next. Nothing’s been confirmed, but we can bet on more videos being released soon (maybe even more Zoey 101? A Zoey-Chase wedding? I’m getting ahead of myself.)
