Texas Scholarships

Important Note: The purpose of this detailed listing is to help you plan your scholarship search throughout the year. Please find information below about scholarships for New York State students. Some of the deadlines may be from prior years. Scholarship deadlines are cyclical, so even if a deadline has passed, the website will likely be updated for the 2023-2024 cycle. Be sure to reach out to the sponsor or check sponsor websites for the most recent details. 

January

This is for $2500. This is available to high school seniors who demonstrate potential to excel in college and contribute to the community. Applicants must also be legal residents of the US living in the state of Texas. Learn more here

 

This gives up to $5,387  per semester to high school students from Public school in Texas and planning to attend college. Applicants must be a resident of Texas and registered with selective service or be exempt. They must also demonstrate financial hardships and be enrolled at least ¾ time. Applicants must Not have been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance. Learn more here.

 

This give an average amount of $2500 to students studying in specific fields. Applicants must be full time students who are US citizens or legal residents residing in Collin, Dallas, or Denton Counties or  attending The University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma next school year.  Learn more here and also here

 

This gives $1,000 to Texas residents to attend 2 or 4 year college/university. Applicants need to demonstrate academic ability, community service, personal development and financial need. Learn more here and also here.

 

This gives $2000 Scholarship to cover the cost of attendance to (4) Day Yale residential overnight and admission visit help female of color students who are attending public school and have 3.0+ GPA. Applicants Must be current High School Junior/High School Graduation Class of 2024. Attend a Public School or Catholic School. Identify as a Female Student of color (African-American, Asian-American, Latino, or Native American).Low to Moderate HouseHold Income (Should not exceed $125,000). Read more here.

 

This is for low income families. This would essentially help lift the financial burden of funding college fees while studying in the UK for a semester. Applicants must be a Texas resident enrolled in a full time education major in  Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Business. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3 or above.  More information here.

 

This is for $2000. This provides support for graduating high school seniors with their college education through scholarship. Applicants must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area (Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia). Applicants must have a 3.4 gpa plan to attend college/university, citizens or permanent residents of the US. Read more here and here.

 

February

This is for students planning to attend an accredited Texas college or university can apply for the Federation of Houston Professional Women Educational Foundation’s scholarship. To be eligible, they need to have completed at least 30 semester hours of credit, be enrolled in 6 or more credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0. More information here and also here.

 

This is up to $5000 and is given to students who are deserving in college and  pursuing regular faculty and curriculum. High school senior applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, college applicants must have at least 2.75 GPA, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.Students seeking degrees through online or distance learning programs exclusively shall not be eligible for Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships. This is for $3000. This is available to African American female high school seniors attending school in Tarrant County. Applicants must attend a 2 or 4 year college or university. Learn more here and also here.

 

This awards up to $3000 to support dependent sons or daughters of a full- or part-time employee of Simon Property Group. Eligible applicants must be 23 years old or younger and planning to enroll in full time 2 or 4 years college.  More details here.

 

This offers awards up to $20,000 to Houston area high school seniors for undergraduate study. The recipient may select any major at any four year college or university in the United States. Requirement of minimum SAT score of 1000 or an ACT score of 21. Applicants must be a US citizen and demonstrate financial need. Learn more here and also here.

 

This gives $1500 to high school seniors who reside in listed counties, and must be a US citizen or legal resident. Scholarships will be awarded to seniors graduating from a high school or other secondary school in the spring or summer of 2024. Students need not have any Masonic or Scottish Rite affiliations to apply. Read more here.

 

March

This awards up to $1000 to Dallas-Fort Worth African American female high school seniors with at least 3.0+ gpa. Applicants must be planning to major in Education and have a career in education. For more details click here. And also here.

 

This supports full-time college students, including those entering college, continuing their education, or pursuing graduate studies. While a recommendation from a TAIA member is beneficial, it’s not mandatory. The $4,000 scholarship is given directly to the student’s selected college to help cover enrollment expenses. This gives an $1500 award to high school seniors who have completed the Storks Nest Education Program. The scholarship is to be awarded to high school seniors or student with a GED who has completed the Storks Nest Education Program through Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Zeta Chapter and the Stork’s Nest Charity Fund of Dallas, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.Applicants must be a resident of Dallas County and pursue a 2 or 4 year college. This offers awards up to $3000 to students with academic excellence,  strong moral character and regular participation in a christian church. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. The perpetual scholarship fund endowed by Estelle Beaumont Ellison is an expression of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord. Read more here.

 

This is up to $1000. This is given to students in Dallas Forts area students. Applicants must be African-American high school seniors, be planning to major in Fine Arts  with minimum 2.5 GPA. Learn more here and also here.

 

This awards up to $2500 to provide financial assistance to an individual interested in pursuing a career in civil engineering, welding engineering, or welding engineering technology. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma and 3.0 gpa who is enrolled in college/university. Read more here and here.

 

This cover one full year of academic tuition to high school seniors or college students up to thirty years of age with financial needs. Applicants must be permanent residents of Parker or Tarrant County who are attaining an undergraduate degree. Learn more here and here.

 

This is available to children/grandchildren of eligible employees and retirees of businesses and organizations previously owned and operated by Sid Richardson and designated successor companies and organizations. The application process includes two steps: Determination of eligibility; and Submission of completed scholarship application form with all required supporting materials. Read more here and here.

 

This gives awards up to $2000 to high school seniors who are influential for God through Christian leadership, and service and who plan to seek full time college education. Applicants must be legal US residents and attend high school in Harris County, TX. Minimum of 2.75 GPA and 30 volunteer hours. More details here.

 

This awards up to $3500 to high school seniors who have shown good academic, leadership and service in the community. Applicants legally reside in required regions, have outstanding academic achievement records and have a positive attitude in college work. More details here and also here.

 

This offers awards up to $1500 to high school seniors who are considered “Unsung Heroes”: students who have performed humanitarian services or heroic deeds in the community. Applicants must be a high school senior and Dallas-Fort Worth County resident, and pursue 2 or 4 year college. Read more here and also here.

 

This awards up to $1500 to a high school senior receiving dual college credit or an undergraduate matriculating at an accredited Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex college or university. Applicants must be a high school senior receiving dual college credit or an undergraduate at Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex college or university (2 or 4 years). Requirement of 2.85 GPA and DFW resident. Applicants must also be involved in community service and/or organized campus activities. Learn more here and here.

 

This offers three $2,000 scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students at select Texas universities passionate about horticultural science. The HCMG Scholarship Committee manages the program. More information here and also here.

 

This offers various awards to graduating high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree program in the field of sports sciences, kinesiology, conservation, physical education, recreation and tourism management and/or other related courses of study. Acceptance to an accredited college or university to be enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours will be required. Preference will be given to those applicants attending a Texas college or university. Has a high school class ranking of at least the top quarter or a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale or a minimum of 850-SAT, minimum score of 21 on ACT. Learn more here.

 

This gives scholarships depending on a student’s financial need. This is given to low income families that are attending a full time  institution in Texas, whether at a 4 or a 2 year college. Applicants must be a resident of Texas planning to major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Business. Applicants must also have a 3.25+ GPA.  Read more here.

 

This gives a $5000 scholarship to students from low income families in Texas or Great Britain who have demonstrated leadership skills. Applicants must be aged between 11 and 21. Applicants must  be a resident of Texas or the United Kingdom, enrolled in full time education within the Texas or UK education system, and be aged between 11 and 21. April

Be a high school senior in Hidalgo, Starr or Cameron County who enrolled as a full-time student for 4 year college/university. Applicants must have 2.5+ gpa. Read more here.

 

This awards up to $1000 for high school seniors who plan to attend college as full time degree seeking students. Applicants must reside in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington, a minimum of 3.0 gpa and demonstrate financial need. This awards up to $5000 to high school seniors of North Texas residing either in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall or Tarrant County. Applicants must be a US citizen or legal resident with 3.0 gpa and interested in pursuing a 4 year degree in journalism/writing. Learn more here.

 

This is for students who want to pursue careers in health care or first responder fields to help support the increased demands of the growing senior population. Priority is given to students living in Corpus Christi, Texas. There’s also an essay required. The Pearl Mae Foundation gives annual scholarships of $1000 to students who want to pursue careers in health care or first responder fields to help support the increased demands of the growing senior population.  Learn more here and also here.

 

This offers various amounts of scholarship to Hispanic/Latino heritage graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students that reside in Texas. The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium seeks highly motivated student leaders with a clear vision for their future to apply for the HSC Scholars Program.Applicants are planning to enroll on a full-time basis in a certificate or associate, bachelor, master or doctoral degree program. May

This offers various awards to African American Lubbock County High School seniors attending Texas tech University. Learn more here and also here.

 

This offers $2,000 supports authors of the African diaspora. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and incoming full-time freshmen, sophomores, or juniors at historically Black Colleges or Universities with a minimum 2.5 GPA. More information here.

 

This providing financial and academic support for students pursuing a certificate or associate degree in certain fields. This $5,000 scholarship covers tuition and fees over up to 3 years and includes guidance to help recipients achieve their career goals. More info. Here and also  here.

 

This offers $5,000 scholarships to college juniors or seniors in Texas majoring in media-related fields. Eligible applicants must have completed 75 credit hours and maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA or a 3.0 in their major. Scholarships consider educational and career goals, activities, community service, and references. More information here and also here.

 

This offers awards up to $2000 to students majoring in education and minority fields of education. Applicants need to demonstrate financial needs. Read more here.

 

This awards up to $12,000 to support students with hearing or other physical hardships who have demonstrated a love for education. Applicants  must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college. Applicants must live or attend school in either Windsor, Colorado; Conroe, Texas; Wilkinson County, Mississippi; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; or West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. This offers awards up to $1000 to young people from ethnic/minority cultures who receive a Christian education. Applicants must  pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at limited Texas Baptist Universities. The maximum award time is two semesters. The benefits are disbursed as follows: Each eligible full-time student (12 or more hours) will receive $1,000 per semester. June

This awards up to $3000 for students who are unprivileged to higher education that reside in Houston and Greater Houston areas. There’s additional consideration to youth who demonstrate the traits of an underdog. More details here and also here.

 

This is awarded by the Santa Fe Civitan Foundation, offers $2,000 to college juniors, seniors, or graduate students planning to work with children with special needs. Eligible fields include Special Education, Allied Health Professions, and Mental Health Professions. Recipients can use the scholarship for tuition or books, must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must have legal residence in the Great Southwest District (Colorado, New Mexico, or El Paso County, Texas). August

This offers awards up to $15000 to high school seniors with DAP or IB Program, with 3.0+ gpa, SAT score of 1070+ or ACT 23. Also required of the top 33% of the high school graduating class. Applicants must be registered with Selective Service or be exempt and be enrolled in the ROTC program or another undergraduate officer commissioning program as certified by the institution. September

This offers a $2,500 annual scholarship to support young LGBTQ+ students pursuing degrees in Radio/Television/Film or Journalism. This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, current college or university students, and requires active involvement in media-related activities, self-identification as LGBTQ+, U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, Texas residency for at least two years, and a GPA of 2.25 or higher. October

This gives three scholarship prizes totaling $10,000 to high school seniors from the 6 primary rice-growing states: Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas. Applicants who haven’t won a National Rice Month Scholarship are eligible to apply. More info. Here and also here.

 

This povides scholarships for San Jacinto College’s ADN Program. Eligibility requires Fall semester enrollment in ADN with a 2.5 GPA. Scholarships consider both need and merit. Apply through the General Application, and check your San Jacinto College email for updates. Meeting the criteria qualifies you for consideration but doesn’t guarantee a scholarship. November

This gives a $3000 award to full time college freshman in Texas college/university who are majoring in music degree program leading to Texas teacher certification. Applicants must major in a music degree program leading to Texas teacher certification with music as the primary teaching field. Learn more here.

 

This offers awards up to $4000 to 11 Texas high school seniors in Brazoria and Galveston Counties. Learn more here and also here.

 

December

This offers $2500. Students must portray how they can protect their environment in daily life in a 30 seconds video. Learn more here.

Deadline's Vary

This awards up to $10,000 with various other scholarships to students from grade 8-12 to participate in the national competition in person.  The next was held at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Brentwood, TN on October 21st with 50 competitors. Learn more here

 

This provides full tuition assistance to students who can demonstrate financial need, pursuing education at Parish Episcopal School. Applicants need to complete and submit the PFS, along with required documentation, including a W-2 form. Read more here.

 

This offers flexible awards depending on the needs of the applicants that legally live in the state of Arkansas or in Bowie County, Tx. Must meet the single parent requirement, and have earned a high school diploma with minimum 2.0 gpa. This awards up to $5000 to honor outstanding Houston-area high school seniors who have overcome hardships and show academic excellence. Applicants must be a current high school senior in a public, charter or alternative school in Harris, Fort Bend, Dayton or Liberty counties. Demonstrate participation in school and have a 3.0+ GPA. Offers awards up to $5000 to help current and former foster youth ages from 16-23 continue their postsecondary education. Eligible Students must enroll in a minimum of 6 semester hours. Applicants must have a high school diploma attending a 2 year program. Learn more here

 

This is a full tuition award to high school seniors who either nominate themselves, or be nominated by community organization. Applicants need to show leadership within community and academic potential. To be eligible, a high school senior must: Be nominated by their high school or a community-based organization.Be in the first term of their senior year in high school. Demonstrate leadership within their high school, community or family. Demonstrate academic potential. Apply on time; depending on the Posse city or program, nominations are accepted in the spring and summer before senior year begins (contact your local Posse office for specific deadlines). This offers to a full-time eligible student up to the following amounts for the year, depending on the type of institution the student is enrolled in. Public community college—$1,786 per semester. This offers awards up to $20,000 to students who enrolled full time at UT, submitted FAFSA with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Applicants must complete at least 30 credit hours per year, including transfer credit and credit by exam. Learn more here

 

This awards $250- $5000 to women who are in financial need, demonstrate desire to complete the academic course that resides in Dallas or Collin county. First priority candidates are women who have the greatest emotional and financial challenges as they gain the work skills necessary to support themselves and/or their families.Applicants need to be US citizens or permanent legal residents. The CBCF, in collaboration with CBC Spouses, has been granting scholarships for over three decades. Annually, they provide over 300 scholarships to exceptional students who exhibit leadership through outstanding community service and academic achievements. Tarleton State University continues to take scholarship applications throughout the academic year; however, students should meet the priority deadline each year to ensure consideration for all eligible scholarships. More information here.

 

This provides a supportive and nurturing environment for students with small class sizes and personalized attention from faculty. They offer various scholarships, including denominational awards for undergraduates connected to Baptist churches or ministries, with different requirements and amounts. This offers scholarships to STEM undergraduate students at Texas 4-year colleges/universities, encouraging hard work, goal achievement, and community involvement. Ten $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually in memory of David Davila and Joe Trevino. More information here and also here.

 

This offers scholarships of $1,000 per year to students who join athletic programs and Esports teams. Students can participate in games like League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Super Smash, and more. These scholarships are open to full-time students with a minimum 2.0 GPA. This offers $5,000 scholarships to underserved young women, including those from Del Valle ISD, LGBTQIA community, Black, Indigenous, and students of color, first-generation students, students with disabilities, and low-income families pursuing post-secondary education in the United States.
