Luxmanor Online
February 2021
Dear Luxmanor Families,
I hope you are all well and excited for our return to school next month. The Board of Education voted to begin reopening schools on March 1st for a select group of instructional programs, followed by a larger return of students on March 15th. For Luxmanor, the students and staff in our SCB program will return to school on March 1st. Our students who are signed up for in-person instruction in grades K-2 will return to school on March 15th and attend all day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with Wednesdays being all virtual instruction for all students. Our 3rd grade students who are signed up for in-person instruction will also begin returning to school on March 15th. They will be on an A/B week rotational schedule. Students signed up for in-person instruction will attend live instruction at school every other week. All students will receive instruction virtually on Wednesdays. Our 4th and 5th grade students who are registered for in-person instruction are tentatively scheduled to return to school on April 6th. They will also be on an A/B week rotational schedule.
I will present everything that I know regarding our reopening during the PTA meeting on February 11th at 7:00 p.m. and will also present the same information again on Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 p.m. During both presentations, I will share updates from the Board of Education meeting, review the timelines for when families will receive related information to Luxmanor's reopening plan. I will send the meeting link information in a separate email for the presentation on the 18th.
There are a few changes to the school calendar. Monday, March 8th is now a professional day for teachers to prepare for the return to school, there will be no school for students. On March 9th and 10th, students will have lessons to watch and/or complete during the day. There will be no live instruction on those days to provide the staff time to complete preparations for our students return to school.
Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday, February 12th for students. All staff will be participating in training in preparation for the return to school. There is also no school on Monday, February 15th in honor of Presidents' Day.
The PTA's Luxletter has been posted on the Luxmanor website.
Thank you for everything you have done for the past year. The staff and I are excited to bring our students back to school. We are ready to put Covid behind us and return to normal as quickly and safely as possible.
Sincerely,
Ryan D. Forkert
Principal
