Philadelphia Phillies star Trea Turner is having a decent first season in Philadelphia.

Signed to an 11-year, $300 million contract this offseason, Turner is out to a .250 batting average with five home runs, 13 RBI and six stolen bases. He was seen as one of the missing pieces to help get the Phillies back to the World Series, where they lost last year to the Houston Astros.

It's certainly not a bad season, but it's not as productive as you'd like for nearly $30 million a season.

That said, Turner hit a huge game-tying home run on Wednesday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Phillies eventually won the game in extras.

After the game, Turner was asked about being boo'd by the notoriously tough Phillies crowd. He said he isn't phased by it and that even his mom boo'd him yesterday.

DraftKings posted video of the interview and here's a partial transcript:

"....'She actually texted me and said 'good game, except for your fourth at-bat.' I said 'yeah, not a good one,' and she said 'I was booing you.' She's one of the reasons why I'm here."

Turner is a two-time All-Star, a World Champion (2019), a Silver Slugger winner and a batting champion (2021).

Turner's revelation wasn't the only noteworthy thing to come out of Wednesday's Phillies game. During the broadcast, longtime broadcaster John Kruk made it known how much he hates the new rules of baseball.

The Phillies will take on the Braves on Thursday at 7:20 p.m. ET.
