Why RAFTI?

  • Line art depicting orbit Enables on-orbit refueling with built-in cooperative docking capability
  • Two dots with two dotted lines connecting them Replaces your existing fill and drain valve, minimizing additional complexity and mass
  • Line art square with circle on top Available under open license, ensuring flexibility
  • Two overlapping circles with dot in the middle Adheres to international best practices set by CONFERS

Designed With Your Mission in Mind

  • Wavy black and silver satin depicting fluid
Multiple inhibits against leaks, aligned with industry safety requirements
  • Orbit Fab's RAFTI service valve and GRIP, the passive and active sides of the refueling interface, connected by two dotted lines
Supports both on-orbit and ground refueling
  • Spacecraft
Supports a wide range of storable fuel types, spacecraft sizes, and propulsion systems
  • Close up of RAFTI and fiducials that look like simple QR codes
Alignment markers reduce complexity of proximity operations
  • Orbit Fab fuel shuttle docking to a spacecraft that consists of a gold foil covered cube with long solar arrays outstretched on either side. Earth in background.

Channel Partnership Program

Our Channel Partnership Program ensures RAFTI integrates seamlessly with existing propulsion systems and bus configurations.

Client Spacecraft Requirements

Fiducials

Tracking markers enable docking
  • Minimum of three non-collinear fiducials, tollerant of 5 degree X and Y axis misalignment
  • Recommended: encircling Whycon marker and 4th fiducial increases robustness against shadows

Supported Pressure

Two valve core Class Ratings of operating pressure
  • Low

    4.48 Mpa (650 psig) TBS

  • High

    20.68 Mpa (3000 psig) TBS

Propellant Compatibility

RAFTI has two valve cores that support the transfer of two independent fluids, ensuring compatibility with various propulsion systems. With multiple pressure variants, RAFTI is designed to be compatible with a wide range of storable propellants.

Integration with Propulsion Systems

A single RAFTI Service Valve (RSV) supports the transfer of two independent fluids, for example, propellant and pressurant. It can also be used in bipropellant systems.
