Yoon lays out plans for Seoul to ‘lead’ North Korea sanctions implementation

President-elect promises major departures from Moon administration in release outlining foreign policy priorities

South Korea’s incoming president will restore “broken trust” with the U.S. and “dramatically strengthen” the country’s defense posture against North Korean nuclear and missile threats, according to a foreign policy platform by Yoon Suk-yeol’s transition team.

The 11-page document released on Sunday lays out a number of national security and diplomatic priorities for the incoming administration, signaling a departure from the inter-Korean policies of the last five years.
