The spiritual advisor for an Oklahoma death row inmate has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

The spiritual advisor for an Oklahoma death row inmate has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Reverend Jeff Hood was prohibited from being in the execution chamber with Scott Eizember back in January.

It a statement explaining its decision, the ODOC said Hood had been arrested multiple times for anti-death penalty outbursts in other states. The ODOC did end up letting Hood be with Eizember during the execution.

Hood is suing the department for $10-million for defamation and emotional distress.
