Our Mission

The mission of the National Consortium for Instruction and Cognition is mentoring current and future scholars, as well as conducting and disseminating educational research.

Annual Conference

The National Consortium for Instruction and Cognition Annual Meeting provides education researchers the opportunity to showcase their current empirical works in a multitude of domains. The 2024 Annual Meeting will be held in Philadelphia, PA, from April 11-14.

Our Purpose

The purpose of NCIC is to conduct, publish, and disseminate educational research, especially as such research relates to the cognitive processes involved in instructional sequences. We promote and actively support communication among those who produce or are seriously interested in the results of educational research.

Who We Are

The National Consortium for Cognition and Instruction (NCIC) was founded in 1916, is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.
