Overview

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Design’s Instructional Ready Support is a resource center for teaching courses online, as well as continuous improvement of courses. The resources and services provide an exploration of the tools and skills needed to work on an online course and become self-sufficient in Canvas. The resources and instructions were updated after the move to Canvas in the fall of 2020.

Self-Help Tutorials & Resources

In addition to providing live support, the Center for Teaching Learning and Design has over 100 self-help tutorials to assist with the continued improvement of courses at MSU Denver. Tutorials are available for both desktop and mobile formats and focus on a variety of instructional methods and tools within Canvas. These tutorials include both text and video instructions to support diverse learning styles.

Instructional Design Support

The CTLD provides live instructional design help to aid in the adoption of an online teaching tool or instructional design advice for teaching online. The CTLD hosts virtual support hours (M-F, 10am-3pm), where staff may enter a Teams room, provide their contact information, and an instructional designer will be in contact via Microsoft Teams. If faculty members have a concern regarding a technical issue, it is best to contact ITS directly. If the CTLD determines that the issue is something outside of the department’s scope, the issue will be elevated to ITS.
