The Leadership Institute
The Mission:
To provide mentorship and leadership development for MoCo EmpowHER’s most committed members; to build a strong community of middle and high school girls across the county; to form a safe space for the discussion of sexism, sexual assault, and other gender-based discrimination; to grow a sense of confidence among a close-knit community and provide young women with a varied set of knowledge and leadership skills.
What We Do:
Over the course of a two month program, participants attend bi-weekly Zoom workshops on strengthening leadership skills and understanding of women’s activism, including public speaking, intersectionality, implicit bias, and team dynamics. At the end of each session, participants are assigned a new group of girls to work on a project. Participants also have access to a Google Classroom with free career-readiness and women's empowerment resources.
