TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science Program

Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) is a FREE program for 9th – 12th grade students at Alameda International Jr/Sr High School interested in pursuing a college degree in math or science. We focus on first-generation, low-income students who are U.S. citizens needing extra support.

About The Program

UBMS provides in-school advisement, after-school tutoring, academic monitoring, a 6-week summer program which includes a week-long residential experience at Colorado School of Mines, workshops (topics include college preparation, career exploration, financial literacy, life skills, social emotional development, etc.) and opportunities to travel nation-wide to visit college campuses and engage in STEM/cultural activities. We provide high school students with the tools, resources, and support necessary to graduate high school, enroll in college, as well as explore and pursue careers in math and science fields.
