There’s a new cruise out there that seems to have come out straight out of every chocolate-lover's dream, and it’s the very aptly-titled Eurochocolate Cruise.
The cruise is a collaborative project between an Italian cruise line, Costa Cruises, and an annual chocolate festival, Eurochocolate, which takes place in the city of Perugia. The two have come together to create a cruise that centres around chocolate and nothing but chocolate, with workshops, tastings, animations and excursions all related to this delicious theme.
“We try to offer unique experiences to our guests [...] and this is possible also thanks to prestigious partnerships like the one with Eurochocolate,” said Costa Cruises' Italy Country manager, Carlo Schiavon. “[It] will allow us to have for the first time aboard a cruise ship the vibe, the fun and the tastes of the greatest international festival dedicated to chocolate”.
Chocolate will be found everywhere aboard the ship, starting with a chocolate sculpture that will be made on the spot by a Eurochocolate master and continuing with cooking classes, workshop and laboratories guided by maître chocolatiers. Guests will also be able to participate in tasting sessions where the chocolate will be paired with wines and other more Mediterranean dishes, and enjoy a tailor-made food and cocktail menu as they dine on board.
The chocolate-y vibe will also be present in the evening entertainment, as well as during the daily excursions at each new port - for example, one of the outings planned will be at the Chocolate Museum of Barcelona.
The cruise will operate on Costa Cruises’ Costa Pacifica ship, and it will leave from Civitavecchia on 16 April 2020. It will dock in Genoa, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Malta and Catania.
