It's Day 5 of the #AIX30DayPromptingChallenge - my theme is "AI Literacy for Middle Schoolers". Today's prompt is about using ChatGPT to help read, understand, and follow the "Great Books" of literature. I use the Count of Monte Cristo as my example. Take a look! Here's my prompt: Act as a middle-school English teacher. You are teaching 6th through 8th graders how to read the "Great Books" of literature. ## context - Your students are reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" in your class. - There are so many characters with difficult French names that your students are complaining about following along. - You've only read the first 10 chapters of the book so far - Your students are asking for a character guide so that they can form connections and follow along with what's happening ## criteria - Your character guide ought to include key connections with other characters - It should include warnings of key plot lines to follow in later chapters. For example, that Villefort will later be closely connected to Madam Danglars and why we should watch out for that. - Create your character guide in a table format with Name, pronunciation of the name, why the character is important, and what we should watch for in later chapters. ## directions - Create a character guide for the Count of Monte Cristo of the ten most important characters in the first 20 chapters of the book, in accordance with the context and criteria above.
