Sokol Blosser’s 2022 Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir is headed to the Aspen Food & Wine Classic in June! The wine was selected by wine journalist and educator Wanda Mann for her seminar entitled, “Pinot Noir Makes the World Go ‘Round.” In the seminar, which is open exclusively to attendees of the elite festival, Wanda will present a flight of Pinot Noirs from around the globe – with Sokol Blosser's 2022 Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir representing Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

About us
The Sokol Blosser family planted their first grapevines in 1971 in the Dundee Hills and now farms over 89 certified organic acres. As one of the LAST pioneering wineries of the region, Sokol Blosser has played a key role in developing and shaping the now-prominent Oregon wine industry. The winery works to create wines of world-class quality, produced in a sustainable manner, which reflect the distinctive flavors of the grapes, soil, and climate, as well as the winery's values and sense of place. The winery produces Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Evolution White (a proprietary white wine blend) and Evolution Red (proprietary red blend), along with small quantities of Single Block Pinot Noirs in selected vintages and a growing sparkling program.

Sokol Blosser Winemaker Robin Howell spearheaded Sokol Blosser’s sparkling program more than a decade ago with the 2013 Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir from Blossom Ridge Vineyard. “I have a huge passion for making sparkling wines and I also love creating still white wines,” says Howell. “I’m excited that we found a way to give our customers who love white wines their own club.”

“We had the hottest, driest August on record,” says Alex Sokol Blosser, president of Sokol Blosser. “It never really got into triple digits, but it was just relentlessly in the 90s and didn’t really cool down at night.” Sokol Blosser has estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills, Eola-Amity Hills, and Yamhill-Carlton. Rain in the beginning of September brought relief. “That was a godsend,” says Sokol Blosser. “That helped slow things down because you could have sugars where you wanted them, but the flavors hadn’t developed yet.”
