About us

Communication is our passion. And it shows. At the Manship School, students and faculty know each other by name and work closely together. Students find a dynamic place to build the skills they need to work as professionals in media and communication. Through our teaching, generation, cultivation and application of knowledge, and community engagement, we educate creative thinkers and leaders in media advertising, public relations and political professions, and are committed to leading the study and practice of media and public affairs within an evolving technological and global society.

  • #Congratulations Lizzie Falcetti and Mel Bridges

    Join us in congratulating Mel Bridges and Lizzie Falcetti for their outstanding achievements in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program! Mel, a junior studying broadcast journalism, made history by winning 7th place in the Audio News/Features Competition, marking KLSU's first-ever Hearst Award win.

Lizzie, a sophomore journalism student, tied for 14th place in the Sports Writing Competition with her compelling piece, "Do athletes make more money in the pros or in college?" 

Mel will be competing in the Hearst National Championship in June, representing Louisiana State University.

We are so proud of their accomplishments!

  • Looking for an opportunity to enhance your professional experience and resume? ImPRint Communications, a student-run public relations firm affiliated with the LSU chapter of PRSSA, recently partnered with the Louisiana Department of Health to create a campaign for vaccine awareness and acceptance.   As a member of ImPRint, you will be responsible for research, planning, implementation and evaluation of this campaign.   Students from all areas are encouraged to apply. This is a paid position ($12/hour) from Fall 2024 to Summer 2025.   • Joshua Howard, (an LSU Manship School alumnus and adjunct instructor) was awarded the Practitioner of the Year award from the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, Baton Rouge Chapter. The award was created to recognize and honor public relations professionals who have distinguished themselves in the past year. Howard is the chief of staff at The Baton Rouge Youth Coalition and owner/consultant at JWH, LLC, a communications firm supporting organizations from strategy to implementation.   • Chris Yandle, Ph.D., (an adjunct instructor at the LSU Manship School) was recognized by the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, Baton Rouge Chapter as the 2024 Communicator of the Year.   • Earlier this week, the Madison Brooks Foundation made a generous donation to the Manship School to establish the Madison Brooks Scholarship Fund to benefit our students. Madison's mother, Ashley Baustert, and her grandmother, Mandy LeBlanc, visited the Manship School to personally deliver this gift. We are so grateful they chose the Manship School to honor Madison’s legacy. 💜💛

  • Congratulations to our Digital Advertising Capstone seniors, who won second place in the AAF District 7 Competition of the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) for their "Cold is Cooler" integrated marketing communication campaign for Tide! ✨To add to this incredible news, the team’s adviser and digital advertising associate professor, Dr. Yongick Jeong, received the Donald G. Hileman Award from AAF District 7!✨ This award recognizes a college educator for outstanding service to advertising, to District 7, to a local advertising federation, and to college advertising students through a student advertising team, a student advertising club, and teaching of superior quality.
