If you have a brain….you’re biased ” These biases can negatively impact all aspects of library operations. If we don’t take steps to counter these biases, they can negatively impact librarian engagement and effectiveness, as well as discourage patrons from utilizing our services. Learn what we can do to make our libraries more inclusive and welcoming to both staff and patrons.

  • Attendees will learn how implicit bias can affect services such as reference, readers advisory, customer service, and library programming.
  • Attendees will learn how to make their libraries more inclusive for their patrons through inclusive policies, staff training, hiring and retention practices, signage, displays, etc.
