KCPS holding enrollment fair through Thursday
ENROLLED IN SCHOOL. KMBC 9’S MATT EVANS IS LIVE AT HARTMAN ELEMENTARY THIS MORNING WITH HOW THE KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT IS TRYING TO HELP. MATT: SUMMER HAS FLOWN BY, AND WE ARE COMING UP ON SOME VERY IMPORTANT DEADLINES FOR KIDS IN THE KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRCIT, WHICH IS WHY THE DISTRICT IS HOLDING AN ENROLLMENT FAIR THAT WILL HAVE EXTENDED HOURS AND EXTRA SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES THAT NEED TO GET KIDS ENROLLED IN CLASSES. THE FAIR BEGAN YESTERDAY AT THE BOARD OF EDUCATION BUILDING NEAR 29TH AND TROOST, AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY, BECAUSE THAT’S THE DEADLINE TO GUARANTEE BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, AUGUST 12. FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF, THIS IS THE KICKOFF OF T BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEASON, BUT IT IS A VERY EXCITING TIME. >> WE’RE GLAD TO SEE ALL OF OUR FAMILIES JUST COMING BACK, EXCITED ABOUT OUR SCHOOLS, OUR AMAZING PROGRAMS. WE HAVE SOME AMAZING NEW TEACHERS COMING ON. PRINCIPALS ARE GETTING THEIR SCHOOLS READY FOR THE KIDDOS TO COME BACK. WE’RE JUST EXCITED. It’s hard to believe, but in less than a month kids in Kansas City will be going back to school.That means parents are starting to knock out a long list of to-dos, including getting kids enrolled in school. That’s why Kansas City Public Schools have opened an enrollment fair this week.KCPS will have extended hours and some extra help for those needing assistance getting kids enrolled in classes. The fair started Monday at the KCPS’ Enrollment Center at 2901 Troost Ave.The fair runs until 5 p.m. Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. KCPS has more information about the enrollment fair on its website.
