WHY WORK IN AN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL?

Independent schools are free to develop an identity, mission, and culture all their own. Joining an independent school means joining a relatively small community of adults committed to a common purpose and core values. Accredited independent schools offer the additional advantage of commitment to a network of colleague schools with a shared set of standards of good practice.

Independent schools have curricular freedom, the ability to establish their own learning scope and sequence and systems for meaningful student assessment. This gives teachers the opportunity for participation and creativity in building curriculum and planning student experiences.

The climate of an independent school is part of the positive experience of working there. A sense of shared purpose and a setting small enough for personal attention benefit both students and adults.
