I-80 in Will County is in serious need of reconstruction. For decades, this aging interstate system has been a constant source of congestion and frustration for motorists, and lack of funding has led to a patchwork of temporary fixes and small improvements. That is now changing! With incoming federal and state funding, we’re ready to roll with big improvements that will make your commute safer and more reliable! The Illinois Department of Transportation has launched an aggressive plan to reconstruct 16 miles of I-80 from Minooka to New Lenox, including rehabilitating over 30 bridges.
Construction is underway and will be implemented in phases to minimize impacts on traffic.
