Programs & Events Internship
Humanitas seeks a Programs & Events Intern to join the team in summer 2024. Current students studying communications, advertising, non-profit administration, or film and television are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have excellent writing and copy editing skills, as well as a strong knowledge of social media best practices. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Cloud, and demonstrated interest in film, television, and social media. Knowledge of Mailchimp and Squarespace, or comparable services, is also a plus.
The intern’s primary project will be outreach to various organizational partnerships in connection with events and programs, supporting in particular the Humanitas staff with the 2024 Humanitas Prizes, New Voices Fellowship, and College Screenwriting Awards. Additional support for public programs in particular Industry 101 and The Writers Room as needed.
The intern will be asked to support Humanitas staff as they prepare for the 2024 Humanitas Prizes event.
For the New Voices Fellowship and College Screenwriting Awards, tasks may include research on partner organizations, speakers, and mentors; assistance creating program materials and documentation; communications support; and/or providing insight based on their perspective as students.
The intern will work closely with the Humanitas staff to assist in the development, planning, and execution of the continued 2024 Industry 101 digital event series, which will cover topics that are foundational to understanding and launching a television and film writing career. Tasks may include panelist and host recruitment, topic research, and logistical support.
The intern may also be given additional tasks related to social media, graphic design, and other public-facing communications.
Interns will be paid at an hourly rate on a biweekly basis. College or university credit is also available.
