During my career, I've covered everything from school board meetings to murder trials. My journey as a reporter started in Gainesville, Florida, where one of the first feature stories I wrote involved jumping out of an airplane with a woman who was afraid of heights. My first job out of college landed me in Naples, Florida, with a start up business news website. We did good work, but online only news publishers weren't financially viable and still are a challenge now. I then traveled to Lake City, Florida, about as different from Naples as possible, where I covered all news that happened in Columbia County. Shortly there after, I jumped to Jacksonville, Florida, to cover the crime beat. Later I would join a business journal covering commercial real estate in Jacksonville. Now, I cover business news in Sarasota with a focus on real estate coverage.
