Join us as we take a dive into advocacy and its practical application during COVID-19. We are chatting with an awesome educator based out of New Orleans, Louisiana and a fellow Howard Alum.  She holds a Bachelors in Human development and Psychoeducational Studies, as well as holding her elementary education certificate. A a third year elementary teacher with a background in social work for persons with disabilities across the lifespan. With her unique experiences she is committed to bringing that knowledge into the classroom, and truly bettering her local community. In this episode we will will cover:

Teacher  concerns for going back to school during COVID-19
How  parents advocated for their children on the tail end of the last educational year
What parents can do differently this year to advocate for their child
Is distance learning actually working? How can we make it better?
Ways to improve the system and empower parents to be present without feeling overwhelmed
