About this event

Train the Trainer - Pond Management Workshop

Join us for an exciting in-person event at The TNC Brown County Hills Field Office (3478 Clay Lick Road, Nashville, IN). This workshop is designed to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively go out in their community and help landowners manage their ponds. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced pond professional, this event is perfect for you.

Come learn from pond experts Scott Wagner (USDA/NRCS Ag Engineer), Dave Osborne (Purdue Educator), and Bob and Chad Wehrman (Wehreman Aeration). Gain insights into pond construction and design, different permitting processes, pond management techniques including aquatic species management (native/invasive, fish stocking, etc.), and general pond troubleshooting. Network with like-minded people and discover new strategies to enhance your pond training sessions.

The Train the Trainer portion of the day is held from 10am to 3pm. We will have coffee and light refreshments in the morning. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share for lunch. Two main dish options (pork roast and veggie soup) and drinks (iced tea and lemonade) will be provided. Tap water is available all day to refill your personal water bottle.

Please also bring a camp/lawn chair to sit in. While a portion of the day will be indoors, we will also be sitting outside beside the pond. Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended. We will have some available for anyone in need!

A Public Pond Workshop will be held from 4pm to 6pm. All attendees of the Train the Trainer event are welcome to attend the public portion as well. Many of the same topics will be covered, but the conservation during the public portion will be guided more by the questions the public brings to our experts.

Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to improve your pond skills and take your training to the next level. Register now!
