About this event

Pharmacists are an accessible and expert source of help and information for children and young people with asthma and their families. This webinar is designed to offer guidance and resources to help improve asthma care by giving key updates and sharing positive practice from this group.

Join Raj Matharu (Chief Officer of Lewisham, Southwark & Lambeth and Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich LPC), Bipin Patel (Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich LPC), Marsha Alter (Middlesex Group of LPCs) and Darush Attar (respiratory lead pharmacist for Barnet CCG, RightBreathe and RPS London North West community pharmacy group) on Monday 14 September 2020 at 7.30pm - 8.15pm for a pharmacy-focused webinar on how pharmacists can support CYP to manage their asthma more effectively, both during the Covid-19 pandemic and looking forward to adapting practice and using innovation to meet future needs.

#AskAboutAsthma is run by Healthy London Partnership and the NHS in London and supported by the Mayor of London.

The #AAA campaign is timed to coincide with the return to school – when hospital admission rates for asthma are usually at their highest (week 38). It encourages health professionals, children and young people and their families to take three simple effective measures to help them control their asthma, namely:

• To have an asthma management plan.

• Be able to use their inhaler effectively

• Have an annual asthma review (as a minimum)

It also looks at the impact of air quality.

In addition to the online conference, this year's #AskAboutAsthma campaign will include a week long schedule of webinars, podcasts, blogs and social media activity.
