(MIAMI, FL- June 24, 2019) Today, EDF Action launched a nearly $90,000 billboard, transit, and digital ad campaign that highlights the issue of climate change in the presidential debates and calls for a 100 percent clean energy economy. As part of this campaign, EDF Action is running digital ads, English and Spanish ads in taxi cabs, and a Spanish billboard and two English billboards on the route to the debate.

Polling shows that climate change consistently ranks as one of the top tier issues for voters, and candidate after candidate have released plans to take action on the climate crisis. Miami, which experiences some of our nation’s most severe climate impacts, serves as a critical place for voters to hear directly from the candidates on the issue.

“We’re already seeing the impact that the climate crisis is having on our economy, our health, and our environment. That’s why we need bold action – transitioning to a 100 percent clean energy economy,” said EDF Action Senior Political Director Jack Pratt. “EDF Action is running this campaign to highlight the fact that commonsense climate solutions are good politics – in addition to being smart policy. Voters will go to the ballot box considering which candidate is best equipped to lead America on climate action.”

Climate change is at the top of voters’ minds, and they’re demanding action. EDF Action, along with voters across the country, will be tuning in to hear the candidates have a robust discussion on climate change and offer their solutions to tackle this challenge head on. The boldest and most effective solutions will include plans to achieve a 100 percent clean energy economy by 2050.”
