H2O On the Go

Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation and Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation launched H2O on the Go in 2020 as part of a shared initiative to improve the overall health and well-being of Illinois children. H2O on the Go allows Illinois elementary, middle, and high schools selected for this program to have existing water fountains replaced with new water bottle-filling stations supplied by Elkay, based in Downers Grove.

H2O on the Go promotes easier access to drinking water for Illinois students while at school and helps encourage them to choose water instead of sugary beverages such as soda, juice, and sports drinks. Besides the notable health benefits, the H2O on the Go refillable water stations help reduce waste and promote conservation efforts. Illinois schools that receive H2O on the Go water filling stations will also receive toothbrushes and reusable water bottles for their students.

In the first four years of the H2O On the Go program, 277 Illinois schools have received a water bottle-filling station. View 2023 recipients here.
