UPDATE, January 30, 2020:

The day has finally come and, quite frankly, I am shaking. Extra cheesy Cheez-Its are being spotted on shelves and I feel like everything in our cheesy snack-filled lives has been leading up to this.

There are not many ways to further improve the already near-perfect cheese snacks that exist out there—Cheetos, Goldfish, Cheese Puffs, and Cheez-Its. One way to come close is to add more cheesy flavor or, as Cheetos now calls it, more cheetle. The only other way to make cheesy things better is to add flamin' hot flavor...and um, Flamin' Hot Cheez-Its sound amazing. @Cheez-Its, pls DM me.

Anyway, the extra cheesy Cheez-Its that were rumored to be coming out in December are making their way to shelves slowly but surely. Instagram food blogger @junkfoodadventures posted a photo of a box of these extra cheesy Cheez-Its, and the box does say "new" on it, so it's likely they're still rolling out to a grocery store near you in the meantime.

Original Post, October 9, 2019:

If you've ever had a Cheez-It and thought "hmmm, I would like this more if, perhaps, it was covered in more cheese flavoring," then you're in luck because apparently, Kellogg's is releasing Extra Cheesy Cheez-Its.

The discovery was made by Instagrammer @CandyHunting, who spotted them at the 2019 National Association of Convenience Stores. We can't tell you much about them yet, but from the packaging and given context clues and common sense, I'm going to say these are your typical cheddar Cheez-Its but covered in extra cheesy powder goodness. It even says so right on the packaging: "Even More Cheesiness."

Such an innovation would not be totally out of the ordinary for the brand. After all, we were recently gifted with Extra Toasty Cheez-Its and you can buy pretty much any flavor cheese Cheez-It your little heart desires.

It's unclear if and when we'll be getting these on shelves, but @CandyHunting wrote that we can expect them around December. Delish reached out to Kellogg's to confirm this news and we'll update this post if we hear back.

In the meantime, you can, in theory, try extra cheesy Cheez-Its when you order the Cheez-It Pizza at Pizza Hut. Think about it! It's a giant Cheez-It covered in cheese dust that's then filled with more cheese. What could be cheesier? I guess we'll find out in December.
