Robert "Rob" Eddy was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1955 and was the oldest of Bob and LaRose Eddy's four children. On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, he passed away unexpectedly at the age of 68.
Rob was a graduate of Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Forestry from Louisiana State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was an enthusiastic alumnus and fan for all three schools; especially his beloved LSU Tigers.
Rob's career included procurement forestry, consulting forestry, retail management, and security for USM sporting events. He also dedicated much time, talent, and love to his family's Christmas tree farm at Hurricane Creek, Mississippi. His other interests included sports (Geaux Tigers!), reading, and enjoying all God's creation. His great passions were his faith, his family, and his many cherished friends. Rob possessed and practiced an extraordinary gift for extending welcome, friendship, and encouragement to everyone he met. For over forty years, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and most recently, Rob was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 11893 in Miramar Beach, Florida. Rob is survived by his wife, Sally; his brother, Rick; his sisters, Carol and Leslie; and many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, and extended family members.
A funeral Mass is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Resurrection Church in Miramar Beach, Florida, followed by a memorial service at Sacred Heart Church in Hattiesburg at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
