Growing up, I have always wanted to be an automotive engineer. I worked so hard and got accepted to study it at the university, however, getting an internship proved to be a frustrating task, every company I approached turned me down as my male counterpart all got accepted.

Women make up only 28% of the workforce in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math(STEM) with men vastly outnumbering women majoring in most STEM fields. Despite efforts to fight gender inequality and reduction of the STEM Gap, Women and girls in STEM continue to face gender stereotyping at school and workplaces. They face constant pressure and resistance in the male dominated fields and with lack of role models, their STEM dream is constantly at risk of dying.This means that the STEM Gap will continue to grow and the future generation of women and girls will not get a chance to join the STEM world.

Please Join me in calling for the The Ministry of Gender, The Ministry of social labor, The National Assembly, Public Service Board to institute a fully financed board to help increases the internship and employment opportunities for women and girls in STEM
