Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is engaged to New York City art gallerist Cooke Maroney.

It was announced last spring that the 28-year-old "The Hunger Games" star was dating Maroney, 33 and now, less than a year later, Lawrence's rep Liz Mahoney has confirmed the couple's engagement to USA Today.

But who exactly is her hubby-to-be? Well, turns out he has close ties to the Green Mountain state.

1. Cooke Maroney grew up in Vermont

When Maroney was just two-years-old, he and his parents moved to rural Leicester, Vermont from New York City to open their own dairy farm according to an article posted to Medium by blogger Olivia French.

According to his Facebook account, the gallerist attended Middlebury Union High School before attending New York University where he studied art history.

2. His family ran a dairy farm in Leicester

Maroney's parents, James and Suki, opened a 750-acre organic farm in Leicester known as Oliver Hill Farm in 1990, one of the first such farms in the state, according to French's article.

Suki told French she managed the office work and field care for the farm on top of growing a garden and raising animals for food for the family.

“I loved doing my gardening, having the kids be directly involved. It was just a quality change that I liked,” Suki said.

But the dairy operation was halted after a fire in 1994. Local farmers took in the displaced cows for a few weeks before the family sold them at auction.

"By 4:00 AM all our cows were gone to various different places," James told French. "We were just left with the smoldering ruin.”

As of 2015, the couple was renting their land to neighboring organic farmers who used it for hay, feed, and pasture.

3. His family also runs a Vermont bed and breakfast

Located on their Leicester property is a charming three bedroom guest house which the family rents out to guests on Airbnb.

According to their Airbnb profile, the bed and breakfast that shares the name of their original dairy farm, rents for $150 per night and offers beautiful views of the Adirondacks and Green Mountains.

The refrigerator in the home is even fully stocked with their "organic free-range eggs and homemade granola, local yogurt, milk, bread, cider and apples, and other Vermont and/or organic items," the profile states.

4. Art is part of the family

Cooke is the director at Gladstone 64 art gallery on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

He has reportedly worked with high profile clients such as Carroll Dunham, Richard Prince and Bjork's ex-boyfriend Matthew Barney as told by The Cut

While Maroney was growing up, his father spent half of his time working as a private art dealer in New York City when he wasn't on the farm.

His father James continued to sell paintings while living in Vermont and his mother took care of paintings at the Shelburne Museum and in various private collections throughout Vermont, according to French.

5. How did Cooke and J-Law meet?

A source told Page Six that the newly engaged couple was introduced by Lawrence's friend Laura Simpson.

The relationship had remained under the radar as the two enjoy their privacy, however they have been photographed while traveling in places such as Rome and Paris.
