Ashley McBryde took the stage at Nashville’s Music City Center on Wednesday night (Nov. 11) for a rousing performance of her 2020 hit “One Night Standards.”
Flanked by her socially distanced band on a darkly lit set, a black-clad McBryde delivered an immaculate version of the no-strings-needed ballad, which became the singer-songwriter’s first Billboard Hot 100 hit this year when it was released as the first single from her sophomore album Never Will.
McBryde already has history at the CMA Awards, taking home the best new artist at the 2019 awards, while also participating in an all-star rendition of Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.” This year, McBryde pulled double duty as a performer — also participating in the show’s opening Charlie Daniels Band tribute medley — while being nominated for three awards: female vocalist of the year, album of the year (for Never Will) and musical event of the year (for her cover of Elvin Bishop’s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” with Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack, and Elle King).
