STEAM TO NATURAL GAS ENERGY PROJECT UPDATES »
The Auraria Campus received $18.6M in capital renewal funds to convert eight campus buildings from an aging steam-powered energy system to a new cost and energy-efficient natural gas system. Xcel Energy is installing 4,200 feet of new gas main lines that will feed into each of the eight buildings. Stage 1 began the week of September 9th, 2019. No gas shutdowns are anticipated during the pipeline installation. Project work will be noisy at times. Thanks in advance for your patience and support as we work to improve your Auraria Campus.
The buildings impacted by the conversion project are:
- Arts Building
- Boulder Creek
- Central Classroom Building
- Cherry Creek Building
- PE/Event Center
- Plaza Building
- Science Building
- West Classroom Building
