First Ascent welcomes students, recent grads to blend work and adventure

First Ascent

Graduating seniors from all majors interested in hybrid or remote career opportunities, as well as those who have graduated within the past two years, are encouraged to apply to First Ascent by April 1.

First Ascent members will choose one of the following six distinct communities to live in as they shape their lifestyles:

  • Morgantown,

  • Eastern Panhandle,

  • New River Gorge,

  • Greater Elkins,

  • Huntington, or

  • Greenbrier Valley.

Each location has its own unique combination of outdoor recreation, flexible coworking spaces, arts and music, and opportunities to make a difference.

The only program of its kind in the nation, First Ascent includes access to outdoor gear and recreation, coworking spaces, professional mentorship and development, and community involvement. These facets provide a strong foundation for graduates to step into their full potential through purpose and genuine connections.
