CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice has covid.
The governor’s office announced Tuesday evening that Justice began feeling poorly Tuesday afternoon.
“Late this afternoon, upon the sudden onset of symptoms, Gov. Jim Justice immediately sought a COVID-19 test, and it came back positive,” the statement said. “The Governor, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, is experiencing mild symptoms and is isolating at home.”
There was an impromptu coaching clinic in the Governor’s Reception Room this morning 🏀
Today, I delivered a congratulatory proclamation to Coach Huggs for his HOF induction. It was a pleasure hosting @CoachHuggs & AD @wrenbaker!

Justice was at the state capitol Tuesday. He had no scheduled public appearances but a social media posting from his office showed he spent time with WVU basketball coach Bob Huggins who was there to be honored by the legislature.
“Everyone that the Governor has been in close contact with over the past few days is being notified,” the governor’s office said.
Justice, who also tested positive for covid in January 2022, is being treated by his family physician Dr. Gary Poling, DO, and Dr. Clay Marsh, MD, the State COVID-19 Czar.
Justice is in communication with his Chief of Staff Brian Abraham in connection with the operation of his office.
