TUSA’S WSU CAREER. SENIOR (2020): Competed in all 16 matches during the spring 2020 season, including starting in multiple of those contests...Tusa posted a team-high 26 service aces during the year, increasing her career total to 108, ranking eighth all-time in WSU Volleyball history...She ended the year second overall in the Pac-12 in service aces per set at 0.42...Penny also finished in a tie for sixth in the Pac-12 in total aces...Totaled 37 kills, 130 digs, 3.5 total blocks, and 66 overall points throughout the season. 

JUNIOR (2019): Saw action in all 33 matches playing in 123 sets... led the team in serving aces (35), which saw her career total increase to 82 overall, just eight away from cracking the WSU All-Time top ten in the stat category...and led the Cougs in serving aces per set (0.28)...was second on the team in digs (297) and fifth in kills (148). 

SOPHOMORE (2018): Saw action in 30 total matches during her second season with WSU...Stepped up into a starting outside hitter role midway through the season as she was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 22-Oct. 28...Recorded five double-doubles in the season...Posted 109 kills, 0.94 kills per set, 34 service aces, and 271 digs during the 2018 campaign...Was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention Team.

FRESHMAN (2017): Starting setter as part of WSU’s 6-2 offensive scheme...had 19 assists and 13 digs vs. Baylor 8/31/17...served five aces in four matches of Cougar Challenge...29 assists and 16 digs in 3-1 win over No. 25 Colorado 10/6/17...17 digs vs. No. 7 Washington 9/20/17...career-high 32 assists vs. Oregon State 10/15/17...27 assists, 10 digs vs. No. 13 UCLA 10/27/17...seven double-doubles...13 aces this season...missed all matches after Nov. 11 due to injury...averaged 4.51 assists per set and 4.57 assists per set in Pac-12 only matches.
 
TUSA’S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned four varsity letters at Long Beach Polytechnic High School as an outside hitter for volleyball coach Leland McGrath…four-year All-Moore League honoree…league MVP in 2016..led Jackrabbits to a league championship in 2015 and runner-up finish in 2016…named Most Competitive Player of the Year three times…selected 2016 Outstanding Athlete of the Amateur Union and to the 2016 Dream Team…LB Poly team was one of top 16 to advance to 2016 CIF State playoffs…selected to All-CIF Southern Section D1 team…played on Mizuno Long Beach 16 Rockstar Club Team coached by Kara Gil…named to the Girls’ National Champions All-Tournament team…named Most Competitive Player of the Year.

Born in May 1999, in Lakewood, California…father Kalavou is a crane operator…mother Terry is a message delivery person…younger brother Phoenix, Princeton and Pierce…aunt Tanana Gaca graduated from WSU in 2010…uncle Hercules Mata’afa was a defensive lineman on the 2017 Cougar football team...majoring in Human Development at WSU.
