Linebacker Darius Leonard was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft with the 36th overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts on Friday night.
Leonard told ABC 15 Sports, "It's a dream come true."
That dream translates to a $3,351,217 signing bonus, and a total contract value of more than seven million dollars.
The former ABC 15 All-Zone selection and Shrine Bowler from Lake View High is only the second player in school history taken in the NFL Draft.
Leonard's older brother Anthony Waters was a 2007 third round pick by the San Diego Chargers.
The 6'2" 234 pound Leonard was a two-time MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and the all-time leading tackler at South Carolina State.
