What happens with Aaron Rodgers and Jordan love over the next few years is extremely important. Aaron Rodgers is still the face of the franchise. He is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever don a jersey. Even so, mother time is undefeated. At some point Aaron Rodgers will hang up his cleats. The biggest question right now is if he will pass the torch to Jordan love. Or, will Green Bay have to move on from Jordan love prior to Aaron Rodgers retiring? Today Brian Gutekunst said he has made his decision on Jordan Love’s fifth year option.
Brian Gutekunst Makes Decision On Jordan Love
Today, Brian Gutekunst made a rare midseason appearance for the media. When asked about the future of Jordan Love, he had this to say:
Gutekunst said he’s seen enough already to make the offseason decision on his fifth-year option but it’s always good to see him play more.
Gutekunst was also asked if he thinks Jordan Love can be a “starting-level quarterback,” and Gutekunst didn’t hesitate: “I do.”
While the writing may be on the wall, we won’t know for sure, until it happens. After all, Brian Gutekunst could think Love is a starting caliber quarterback, and still decline his fifth year option. Aaron Rodgers signed a massive three-year extension in March. It is unlikely that the Green Bay signed him to that contract with the intentions of keeping him only one year. Aaron Rodgers will likely be back in 2023. 2024? That could be when we see the Jordan Love era begin. If Green Bay does pick up Love’s fifth year option, it would keep him on the roster until the end of the 2024 season.
