MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — The West Virginia University and Oklahoma football game scheduled for Saturday in Morgantown has been postponed, university officials said.
A news release from the university Wednesday said the game was being canceled because Oklahoma was unable to meet required COVID-19 thresholds, which is required by the Big 12 Conference.
The conference has rescheduled the game for Dec. 12 in Morgantown.
University officials said the game time and television network will be announced at a later date.
"I am disappointed for both teams, who have worked extremely hard in their preparation for this weekend's game," WVU Director of Athletics Shane Lyons said. "We will now look forward to honoring our seniors and hosting the Sooners on Dec 12."
