United Way of King County is looking for volunteers who can commit to volunteering weekly for two months driving and delivering school lunches to children living at Green River & Valley Park. As a volunteer, you will report to Green River & Valley Park once a week for two months. There, you will pick up meals from your site address, drive the meals to families in the Green River & Valley Park community, and deliver the meals to doorsteps through no-contact delivery. United Way of King County will provide PPE (gloves and masks) for all volunteers, provide on-site training and guidance while practicing social distancing at all times.
United Way of King County uses a third-party vendor, Sterling Volunteers, to process background checks for volunteers. Our background check is a nationwide 7-year criminal history check as well as a check of the National Sex Offender database. Criminal convictions such as DUI or Reckless Driving will not disqualify someone from volunteering. We are looking for sex offenders or those who have recent convictions that involve harm or threat of harm to an individual(s). A background check is required for this volunteer position and will be performed by United Way of King County
Volunteers are needed Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, from 11:15-12:30. To best serve our community, volunteers will sign up for recurring shifts on a two-month period. When you sign up to volunteer, you should pick one day and time you can reliably be available for every week throughout the two-month period. For example, if you sign up for a Monday shift, you are committing to every Monday for the two-month period. The first window is March 1st through April 26th.
