Sexual Assault Education & Prevention Program

Events & Trainings

ATTENTION: We offer events in-person & virtual as noted in event descriptions.

TITLE IX TRAINING

The Title IX Team provides training to the UToledo Community. This session helps participants identify what Title IX is, understand the Title IX process, know how to report, and understand the resources available to those impacted by sexual harassment, sex discrimination, and retaliation. Your group can gain a better understanding of what it means to be a responsible employee, how to maintain compliance with Title IX and how Title IX enhances the inclusive culture at The University of Toledo. To host a Title IX Training session, please call 419.530.4191 or email TitleIX@utoledo.edu.

BYSTANDER INTERVENTION & CONSENT CULTURE PRESENTATION (Virtually & In-Person)

The Sexual Misconduct Prevention Education Program in Title IX is offering an adaptation of Bystander Intervention & Consent Culture 60-90 minutes sessions to help educate our community on the topic of sexual misconduct. The learning objectives include:

  • IDENTIFY behaviors on a continuum of violence
  • DEVELOP empathy for those who have experienced violence
  • PRACTICE safe and appropriate intervention skills
  • COMMIT to intervene before, during and after an incident of sexual abuse, relationship violence and stalking occurs

This new change has been implemented as it has been determined thru evidence based studies that small, interactive, experiential style of learning is more beneficial. If your group would benefit from this training please email TitleIX@utoledo.edu or look for scheduled presentations on Invonet.

The dates/times these events are being hosted are being posted on Invonet for the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

*You must sign up via Involvement Network i.e. Invonet. Session attendance is limited to 20-25 people so signing up is mandatory. Attendance will be taken via the CORQ app. Please come prepared with it downloaded on your phone. We ask that people come prepared to be interactive and all electronic devices are put away. The team will reschedule/cancel sessions if there are less than 10 people in attendance. Virtual sessions are hosted on the platform Zoom.
